William Martyr
William is a Senior Associate at the firm who specialises in criminal law. He has a wealth of experience in a number of areas of criminal law, including drugs offences, assault offences, fraud offences, road and traffic offences, theft, and apprehended domestic violence proceedings.
William is a confident advocate who appears in bail applications, sentences, severity and sentence appeals, mental health applications and summary hearings in courts throughout Sydney, as well as regional centres. For matters requiring the briefing of barristers, William has contacts with a number of advocates with specialised experience.
Prior to joining Green & Associates, William worked as a solicitor at the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) based in Sydney and Broken Hill. During his time at the DPP, William had a diverse and complex practice which saw him exposed to a number of interesting matters. William instructed in a number of landmark prosecutions, including the prosecution of Brendan Russell, the first successful prosecution of a body modifier in New South Wales, and a trial in Broken Hill which was the first guilty verdict in Broken Hill in 8 years.
Before commencing in criminal law, William worked at a number of large national and small boutique law firms.
William is an admitted solicitor in New South Wales. He has completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, along with a Bachelor of International Relations (Spec. International Security) (Min. Political Science).
